Something Corporate started when Andrew, Clutch and Brian came together to preform in battle of the bands at their highschool. They won, but say it was a fluke and all the other bands just happened to suck even more than they did. Disappointed by their less than great performance the band didn't pursue their musical careers any further. That was of course until Andrew heard Josh play guitar at a party and his interest in starting a band returned. So the battle of the bands winning group (Andrew, Clutch and Brian) joined up with Josh and a friend Reuben Hernandez on rhythm guitar to complete their distinctive Something Corporate sound.
The guys got in all the practice time they could, taking many different local gigs. Eventually they put their songs on an independantly released cd called "Ready... Break," with a local venue. On the cd they put their favorite songs and an eleventh bonus track, the live version of nine minute long Konstantine. This helped to make the band known outside of their Californian community, as well as their state. All was good except that Reuben wanted to get a college education and was planning to study abroad for a semester in Italy. This is where William comes in to take Reuben's place in the already booked shows. Unfortunately for Reuben, he was gone during a crucial time in Something Corporates career, making it difficult for the band to keep it's original line up. As heart-breaking as it was for the members of the band, they had to ask Reuben to resign from his place in the band, being permanantly replaced by William.
A talent buyer at the house of blues in Aneheim suggested Something Corporate to Drive-Thru records who gave the band one of their most flattering deals. Drive-Thru became hooked after hearing a private show in Andrew's home. It was a surprise that Drive-Thru showed so much interest in a band known for their piano melodies, which is quite different from the thrashing guitar chords of other Drive-Thru bands. Drive-Thru actually loved Something Corporate for their ballads and insisted that the love song "Walk By" be on their "AudioBoxer" EP.
"AudioBoxer" ended up selling triple the expected sales. Soon after it's release, Drive-Thru released a compilation cd called "Welcome to the Family" with songs from all the bands on the label, including the new members of the family, Something Corporate. Fans of the more famous Drive-Thru bands (New Found Glory, Fenix TX, etc) bought the cd and becamed intrigued by SC's unique sound. Under Drive-Thru Records and the veteran bands on the label's guidance Something Corporate found themselves playing venues all over the United States. In between shows, SC found time to release their first single "iF yoU C Jordan" and film the video. The song got moderate playing time on some influential rock stations, which is great for a band that had recently been playing in garages.
Just recently, before the band could take time to bask in their new found sucess, Something Corporate recorded and released their new album "Leaving Through the Window," which is their first full length cd on Drive-Thru Records. And now with their album in stores, the band is touring with Vans Warped Tour, playing on the main stage and taking the world by storm.
